Gulf employers often receive hundreds of applications for one job. A clear one- or two-page CV helps you get the call. These tips work for both skilled trades and office jobs.
What to put at the top
- Full name, job title you want (for example "Heavy Driver" or "Accountant").
- Phone with WhatsApp (with country code), email, current country and city.
- Nationality, visa status (for example "Iqama transferable" or "available to travel"), and notice period.
Experience
List your jobs newest first: job title, company, country, dates, and 2–4 lines of what you did. Use numbers: "drove 20-ton trailer, 300 km daily, zero accidents" or "handled payroll for 120 staff". Gulf experience is valuable – mention it clearly.
Licences and certificates
Add driving licences (country and type), trade certificates (welding 6G, electrical, HVAC), safety (NEBOSH, OSHA), professional registrations (SCE, SCFHS, DHA) and language skills.
Photo and personal details
Many Gulf employers still expect a professional photo. Do not add your passport number, bank details or copies of documents in the CV – send them only when a verified employer asks.
Common mistakes
- Long CVs with no clear job title.
- Spelling mistakes – ask a friend to check.
- Sending the same CV to every job – adjust the top lines for each role.
- Paying an agent to "guarantee" a job with your CV.
